FCALSO offers a full life skills day programming group for all of our service users not attending formal education. It runs Monday - Friday 9am to 3pm and offers real life skills experience and learning such as weekly grocery shopping, community business tours, community volunteering, baking and cooking, house maintenance activities etc.
Within each of our programs FCALSO encourages and assists our young adults to see their home as their own personal living space and value importance of teaching and modelling to them the essential life skills of maintaining their own home.
FCALSO strongly values the importance of incorporating activity into each day.
FCALSO works cooperatively with the Stratford YMCA, Spruce Lodge theraeutic pools, pursuit climbing, infinity dance, BJJ Karate and Stratford special Olympics, St Mary's Pyramid Recreation center, wilmot recreation center and wildwood conservation area to ensure our young adults are given plenty of options and opportunities to participate in daily activitiy that is meaningful to them.
FCALSO prides itself on being a community of adult living and offering each of our service users a community feel. Each friday night one program will host a movie/social night where all programs and service users are invited. We have weekly pot luck dinner and/or summer picnic BBQ's.
We have weekly swim sessions, weekly indoor climbing sessions and bowling sessions which allow our service users to interact together in a safe space with members of their own peer group.
In addition, we join many community events including weekly community events including weekly community meals at The Local Community Kitchen, Stratford Special Olympics, Community Paint Nights and community bus trips to Blue Jay's games in Toronto.
